Reviews about 72nd Booze Mart
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆December 09, 2019, by John PaigeI've rarely been so offended. I went in here on my way home from work. I thought I'd look at their selection and get a bottle of whiskey. The guy there told me the prices are after tax, though the price labels are faded and hard to see as well as all being several feet behind a counter. At first I was excited because they had Johnny Walker green label and a handful of anejo tequilas. You typically can't find those in box stores. I then saw Speyburn 10 year, an OK single malt that I used to see in grocery stores for $30. It didn't have a price around it so I asked how much it was. A guy with a turban laughed a bit and said "you won't buy it." I replied "well that depends on the price." not sure what he meant. he then quoted "$40." I just finished a bottle of Johnny Walker Black that I bought for around $45 and wasn't ready to pay $40 for a much inferior whisky. "yeah that was a $30 whisky before, how much for the Bulliet?" He then said "not for you. get out. I don't work for free." "excuse me?" He then told me to get out again. I wish I could say that wasn't a quote. I asked for the price of two items and was told to leave. I don't know what his deal was. I work hard for a living and like good drinks. I asked the bouncer next door at the recreational store what the name of that store was. He asked why, I told him what happened. He told me he worked there too and apologized saying he would talk to the man that he probably didn't understand me or something. He was very nice. I still will not go there again. The prices are a little higher than I see at Safeway though that isn't a big deal if I'm already at the store. It's been an hour since I'm still upset. I've rarely been so offended. I ended up going to the fred meyer across the street and buying some Buffalo Trace. If the guy was just nice to me I'd have probably payed extra and bought something from him, probably Bulliet because I like that whiskey and was eyeing it. So, my suggestion is not to go there unless you like being treated like a vagrant for asking what prices are.
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆January 04, 2019, by Jillian ButlerIts thanksgiving and i only popped in to take a look at what they had and wasnt really too sure on what i wanted. The guy "helping me" did nothing but rush me & more then just a friendly nudge. When i kept kindly telling him im just not sure what i want & am still looking, he continued to over exaggerate sighs and roll his eyes. This happened about 7 or 8 times before id finally had enough and told him id rather go somewhere else because he seemed to have a really big problem with me. So i left. I was literally in that store for a WHOPPING 6 minutes. I was so mad, considering i even had the humility to think maybe i was taking a really long time and just wasnt realising it. This guy was incredibly rude and ill never return here. Sincerely, A woman who went all the way down to 38th& pacific just to not have to deal with incompetent people.
